Traffic, Important to Home Business Blog

Like I said, I was reading a lot of articles available hoping that I would learn the things that I need to learn to make my home based business which is this blog will prosper a little if not so fast. And one of the things that I learned is that I need to drive traffic into this blog.

A Make Money Online Philippine blogger, Mr. Sustines Laplana, repeatedly said that traffic is the blood or the life of a blog. Without traffic, a blog is dead.

I realized that what he's saying is true. Just imagine a blood of your body. Isn't it the one who carries the oxygen into our whole body system? Which in short, if there is no blood in our body, there will be nothing to deliver the oxygen into the entire system of the body which will result to a massive failure of our body's organs.

The same is true to this blog. I already have this blog. I posted journals or blogposts here. But what happen if there will be no one who will read this blog? It will absolutely became useless. Besides becoming useless, you will never earn even a single cent from your blog. Remember that it's your blog's visitors whom you are trying to convince to visit the advertised links in your blog or to buy the advertised products on your blog.

In other words, a blogger should strive hard to gain traffic or visitors into the blog. There are actually two types of traffic that we can get for the blog: (1) Organic traffic (2) Non-passive.

Organic traffic is the traffic coming from the search engines. Other experts called it a passive traffic. It is passive in the sense that you are not doing anything just to get traffic but you are just relying on the search engine whether who will it redirect into your blog.

When I say you  are not doing anything in getting the traffic, I don't mean that you will not be doing anything because in the first place you will strive hard, you will do what ever ways that might bring your blog into the top list at the Google search result pages. Once your blog is listed on the top page, then expect visitors to come from the search engines.

Organic traffic is quite different to the non-organic traffic. Non-organic traffic are those traffic coming from your invitation. These visitors visit your blog because they have seen your invitation to visit your blog. Once you stopped inviting people to visit your blog, then there will be no one who will visit your blog.

So, what are the ways we can do to get traffic for our blog?

Okay, I have compiled the ways that I know. And they are: (1) SEO, (2) Advertisement (3) Recommendations.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is a technique used by bloggers and webmasters to ensure that their blog will gain the higher ranking on the search engine result pages. In includes that optimization of the title of the page, title of the post, keyword density of the articles, internal linking and external linking. This technique make use of the possibilities that the search engines will rank a website.

Advertisement can be a good source of traffic but it is of course expensive. You'll be paying the advertising platform or services just to display your advertisement. There are several types of advertising schemes, and these are CPA or cost per click, CPM or cost per thousand of impressions and CPA or cost per action.

Recommendations can actually be done by telling your friends or loveones to visit your blog. Usually, it is the worst way of gaining traffic since those visitors who visited your blog through this less likely will do an action that will let you earn money from your blog. Perhaps, they might be the reason why you'll be banned from ad publishing services like the Google Adsense and others.

Well, I still have lots of things to write but I think, it's just enough for the day.
